CNC wood router with pneumatic rollers is a specialized woodworking machine that uses air-powered (pneumatic) pressing wheels to hold the material down while cutting, rather than relying solely on vacuum suction or manual mechanical clamps.

This setup acts as a dynamic "third hand," ensuring the wood stays flat and secure even as it moves or if the board is slightly warped.

How It Works

Standard CNC routers often use a vacuum table to suck the board down. However, vacuum systems can lose grip if the board is porous, warped, or if the parts being cut are too small (not enough surface area).

Pneumatic rollers solve this by applying direct physical pressure:

Mechanism: Two  large rubber or polyurethane rollers are mounted on either side of the spindle (the cutting head).

Actuation: Pneumatic cylinders (air pistons) push these rollers down onto the material with significant force.

Movement: As the gantry moves to cut, the rollers roll along with it, maintaining constant downward pressure on the workpiece right next to where the cutter is working.
